Buhari swears in Ariwoola as Nigeria’s Acting Chief Justice.

he installation of Justice Ariwoola was precipitated by the unexpected resignation of Justice Ibrahim Tanko due to health concerns.

Thus, Ariwoola becomes the third person to hold the highest Judiciary position in the country throughout the tenure of this administration.

Recall that Justice Before resigning, Walter Onnoghen also served as CJN under the government of President Buhari.

Ariwoola was sworn into office by Buhari in the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The acting CJN was accompanied to the occasion by several Supreme Court Justices.

Before the brief ceremony at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the following Justices were instructed to administer the Covid-19 examination in the Old Banquet Hall.
