The West African Examination Council, WAEC postponed 2021 exams and has announced a new date for the 2021 May/June Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), which will now take place from August 16th to September 30th this year.

Last recall that the Head office, WAEC National Chairman, Patrick Areghan, had said the May/June examination may not hold this month due to the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic across the nation.

However, the acting Chairman of Public Affairs of WAEC Nigeria, Demianus Ojijeogu, on friday morning said it will soon release the timetable for the examination before the above date.

He explained that the new examination timetable was in line with the current academic scheduled and was done in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education in Nigeria.

“The Examination council wishes to inform all schools, candidates and the general public that the SSCE will hold from August 16th to September 30th this season.

“The national timetable for the conduct of the WAEC examination will be released in due course across schools,” he added.
